Offering individuals a Hand-Up.

Jones Family Chicken Coop

MFC understands one organization cannot meet all the needs with only introducing short-term mission trips into the local communities, so we established the Hand- Up project with the intention to provide economic empowerment to the local individuals and or communities that can continue after the mission teams have returned to their homes. This projects include:

Operation Chicken Coop: This program provides start up materials for individual families or communities to start on the road to self-sufficiency. The program provides the startup capital needed to start a business, such as chickens (50-100), chicken feed and materials to build the chicken coop. We partnered with local pastors or churches within the community to assist these individuals on how to manage a business and  establish a market for the chicken. Our intention is for them to use a portion of the chicken to feed their family and the other portion to sell. We provide them with enough resources for them to start and ultimately. Again, the purpose is to provide these individuals with a hand up to improve their economic status.

School Supplies: MFC collects school supplies throughout North America with the purpose to distribute to students in the foreign countries we operate, currently Jamaica, to ensure students and families are not having to make a difficult decision between sending a child to school or staying home because they do not money to buy school supplies. We have also partnered with volunteer seamstresses in North America to sew uniforms for students.
